Vivienne was born in England on November 16, 1957 to English and Lithuanian parents. Her family moved to Toronto in 1960 where she grew up and enjoyed spending her summers at the family cottage with her cousins. Vivienne earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of Toronto and established a successful career in forestry at a time when female foresters were a rarity. Her career led her across Ontario, and she eventually settled in Sault Ste Marie where she retired in 2014 as Manager of Forest Economics with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. She realized her life-long dream of owning horses and enjoyed her retirement in the home she built with her husband where she could watch the horses from the kitchen window. She was an admired volunteer and team captain at St. Vincent Place where she was committed to caring for other people, even in the last month of her life. Most of all, she cherished her family and taught us to approach life with a sense of humour. When times were most difficult, especially for her, she would gently remind us that “it’s all part of the adventure”.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Joe Trevisan, children David and Lauren Iles, stepdaughter Sheila Trevisan, sister Angela Henley, mother Idalia Scott and the countless friends and family whose lives she changed immeasurably. A Memorial Service will be held at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522, Sault Ste. Marie) at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2019. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque) can be made to ARCH, or the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic.
