

He was born in Fitzgerald, Ga., and was preceded in death by his parents, James & Evelyn Benton Jones, and a brother, David Jones.
He was a veteran, having served in the US Air Force, at Keesler Air Force Base, in Biloxi, Mississippi.
He was retired from Certain Teed Products after 28 years of service, where he worked as a truck driver, and after retiring, he then went to work for Hertz Rental Car Company as a transporter.
He was a member of The Sanctuary.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Bryant Jones, of Savannah, Ga; two sons, “Bubba” and Terri Jones; and Timmy and Brenda Yancey, all of Savannah, Ga; 3 daughters, Angie and Ronnie Griffin of Rincon, Ga; Susan and Fred Gerrald, of Savannah, Ga; and Dianne and Michael Luckey, of Orlando, Florida; a sister, Dodie Burnsed, of Richmond Hill, Ga, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was a very “simple man” who loved his family and worked hard.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Dr. Hugo Hammond, and Rev. Larry W. McDaniel, officiating.
Interment: Hillcrest West Cemetery.
