
Jane was born in Savannah, Georgia, to Nicholas J. Brewer, Sr. and Jean Baughn Brewer. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1947, attended Georgia Baptist Nursing School and received her degree as a Registered Nurse. She then continued her education at the University of Georgia and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1953. She also received her M. Ed. in Psychometry from Georgia Southern University and her Masters in Nursing from Medical College of Georgia.
Jane taught nursing for over twenty-five years at Armstrong Atlantic State University and received the distinction of Professor Emeritus of Nursing in 2005. Teaching nursing was her true love and she cared passionately for her students and their success.
Jane loved life and never missed an opportunity to provide an encouraging word or a helping hand. She loved those around her with passion; her family, her friends, and her students. She treasured the time spent at her beloved home at Tybee Island and at her church, Trinity United Methodist.
Jane is predeceased by her parents, her sister, Cornelia B. Graham (Edwin “Bud”); her brother, Rev. Nicholas J. Brewer, Jr. (Miriam); her husbands, A. Kenneth Williamson, Sr., and William Edwin “Buck” Griner; and her son, John G. Williamson.
She is survived by: her children: Carmel W. Sanders, Macon, Ga.; A. Kenneth Williamson(Paula), Savannah: and Edwin B. Williamson, Harrisburg, N.C. ; her grandchildren: Matthew and Jane Elizabeth Sanders, Macon, Ga.; Claire and Liz Williamson, Harrisburg, N.C.; and Jasmine Gomez, (Derek Haygood), Austin, Tx. and Victoria Williamson, Savannah, Ga.; her stepchildren, Gretchen Reed (James),Goldsboro, N.C. ; Rebecca Clark (William), Washington, N.C.; and Martha Ellen Smythe, St. Michael’s Md.; numerous nieces and nephews and her wonderful caregivers, Flossie Hamm and Frances Little.

Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park, Mausoleum, 1600 Wheaton Street, Savannah, Ga 31404.
