SAVANNAH, GA – Jessie Dorothy Watson was born January 10, 1925, in SAFFRON WALDEN, ESSEX, England to William Arthur Regelous and Jessie Elizabeth Regelous. Ms. Jessie passed this life and went to be with our Lord on October 18, 2013 under the excellent care of Tara of Thunderbolt Nursing and Rehabilitation. She married William Stedley Watson April 29, 1944 in Saffron Walden, England. After William (Sonny) Watson was transferred by the US Air Force in October 1945 back to the United States. Jessie joined her husband in April of 1946 in Savannah. She began her family in 1946 with the birth of her first son David and then in 1951 with the birth of her second son Kenneth. She began a 47 year career in 1963 as secretary of Ardsley Park Baptist Church serving our Lord, six pastors, and hundreds of church member She then retired in June of 2010. Her faithfulness and dedication to serving her Lord were an inspiration to so many.

She was preceded in death by her father William Arthur Regelous, her mother Jessie Elizabeth Regelous Auger, her husband, William S. (Sonny) Watson, her son, David, and her sister, Betty Wickson.

She is survived by her son Kenneth L. Watson, daughter in law Kathryn Ann Watson, granddaughter Karyn Mitchell and her husband Lawrence, grandson Kevin Watson and his fiancée Jessica, granddaughter Kristen Watson, and great granddaughter, Katelyn Wilkins.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Savannah Inc. for their wonderful acts of kindness and their loving caring spirit, and the staff at Tara of Thunderbolt Nursing and Rehabilitation for the special care she received over the past two months.

There will be a special celebration service honoring Jessie Tuesday October 22, 2013, 11 AM, at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert Baker Chapel on Hodgson Memorial Dr. in Savannah. Visitation with the family will be Monday October 21, 2013 6-8 PM,at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert Baker Chapel.
