It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Anne Storrison (nee Fedyk), at the age of 93 on February 5, 2022. Anne leaves behind many to celebrate her long life: five daughters (Marie, Diane, Karen, Barbara and Susan), ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and her surviving brother, Gregory Fedyk and family. Predeceased by her brother John Fedyk (twin to Gregory) and cherished husband, Henry Storrison, with whom she shared many adventures at the family cottage on Wollaston Lake, Coe Hill, Ontario. Anne was born to Ukrainian immigrants who spoke little English and, as a child, took on adult responsibilities to overcome many hardships growing up in downtown Toronto - the Great Depression, wartime deprivations, the early loss of her older sister, Mary, to meningitis, and the blinding of her father, the family's only breadwinner, in an industrial accident. Those difficult times helped shape Anne's character into the strong, fearless, capable, compassionate and generous woman she became, sustained by her faith and commitment to help those in need. Anne was a devoted elementary school teacher throughout her adult life, retiring from St. Lawrence CES in Scarborough. Many generations of students will fondly remember her determination to ensure they had a lunch to eat and succeeded academically. Anne was a devout and supportive member of the Precious Blood Roman Catholic and Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic congregations and also a community leader who worked diligently to preserve her cherished North Wexford neighbourhood. Funeral services are private with the hope that a memorial mass and celebration of life can be held in the spring. If desired, donations in her name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
Our Mother
Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky,
Hundreds of shells on the shore together,
Hundreds of birds that go singing by,
Hundreds of bees in the sunny weather;
Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of lambs in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn, -
But only one mother the wide world over.

A Private Graveside Service will be held.
