Apostolos Andronakos

It’s with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Apostolos Andronakos “O Psaras” at Scarborough General Hospital on June 26, 2023, at the age of 82. His beloved wife Sofia of 52 years will miss him dearly. He was the loving father of George, Vivian (and her husband John) and Chris. Papou will be fondly remembered by Katerina, Sophia and Christos. He was the son of the late George and Vivian Andronakos. He was the dear brother of Petros, Dimitris, Xanthipi, and Yiannis. Apostolos served in the Greek Navy as a cook and guard when he was 21 years old. Apostolos was a young fisherman dating back to his childhood years in Gytheion, Greece where he was out on the boats all day. He continued this work in retail and restaurant environments after immigrating to Canada. His favorite past times were grilling and cooking, dancing and listening to Greek rembetika music. Spending time with his friends and family and being social was very important to him and was often the life of the party. Special thanks to the caregivers and medical staff at Hellenic Home for the Aged for their compassionate and outstanding care of Apostolos over the last year and a half.

Visitation at PAUL O’CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Warden and Pharmacy) on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 4 - 8 PM.

A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:30 AM at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church, 1385 Warden Avenue, Toronto, ON M1R 2S3.
