Passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025 in his 98th year. Walter was the son of the late Gregory Farrell and Sarah MacNeil of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph, Raymond, Stephen, Malcolm, Alexander, Charles, Cyril, Emily McAllister, Theresa Russell, Kay Crystal, Florence Leont, Seraphine Livingstone, Mary Ready, Angelorum Deane, Marina Farrell and Donalda Farrell. He is survived by his many nieces, nephews and friends. He was a member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools for 74 years. He spent most of his teaching career in Toronto at St. Paul’s, St. Helen’s, St. Theresa Shrine School and De la Salle College “Oaklands”. He later was a librarian, vocation director and archivist. He retired to La Salle Manor in 1995 and later to Loreto Abbey and Presentation Manor. Visitation will take place in the chapel of Presentation Manor Residence for Seniors, 61 Fairfax Crescent, Scarborough at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 27, 2025 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill, Ontario.
