October 1st, 1943 – July 29th, 2024
Dave passed away peacefully in the hospital surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years Pat, daughter Janis, son Bobby (Sarah) and his three beautiful granddaughters Laura, Iris and Amy who he adored watching grow up.
Dave grew up in Toronto and graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in mechanical engineering. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a material handling specialist at Hatch Ltd.
He was passionate about many things but his love of both curling and the family cottage always stood out. The cottage provided the perfect avenue for him to employ his tremendous skills as a carpenter in expanding and refurbishing the 30’s era structure and as a boat builder. In curling he enjoyed great success as a player, coach and instructor, but it was the time and energy he devoted to shaping and improving the High Park Club in Toronto that he was most admired and appreciated for. In the past Dave shared his time and skills helping the Donway Covenant United Church.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 7th, 2024
2-4 pm at High Park Club; 100 Indian Road, Toronto, Ontario, M6R 2V4.
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the North York General Foundation.
