She is survived by her son Jude (Ruth-Anne), grandchildren Nathaniel and Faith, sister Pam (late Oscar), brother-in-law Clement, and many nephews and nieces.
Deanna, Victor, and Jude came to Canada in the early 70s and settled in Don Mills. They joined the St. Bonaventure Parish community where Deanna was a lector, eucharistic minister, and took part in many other activities with her many friends.
Deanna and Victor spent their lives dedicated to helping others. From volunteering the with Poor Aid Society in Karachi where they met, to supporting many organizations here in Toronto, their desire to see others raised up never wavered. Volunteering was very important to Deanna, and she inspired many others to seek out volunteer roles to help others.
Deanna’s faith was well known among her friends and family. Her unfailing devotion to Our Lady was unparalleled and she would attend at St. Patrick’s church every Wednesday for devotions to Our Mother of Perpetual Help. So strong was her faith that she followed the Papal charge to the Redemptorist order “Make Her known around the world”.
Deanna’s faith and generosity has touched many and will continue to inspire all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff of Cheltenham Care Community and Dr Lam and the health team at Humber River Hospital, 12 West, for their compassion and caring for Deanna.
The family will receive visitors at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home in Scarborough on Sunday, December 17th from 1 to 5 pm.
