1934 - 2025
We are saddened to announce that George passed away on Sunday, March 2nd at Michael Garron Hospital with Dianne by his side. George struggled with multiple cancers in recent years but was cared for by the wonderful doctors and staff at Michael Garron and St. Mikes’.
George leaves behind his wife of 60 years Dianne (nee Barclay), daughter Tracy (Darryl), son Todd (Linda), grandchildren Kainnon, Carly, Ben and Jack. Survived by his brother Tom (Kathleen) of Owen Sound and his sister-in-law Patricia Nystrom.
Retiring from Bell after 38 years George and Dianne did a lot of travelling but George’s favorite place in the world was the cottage on Lake Fortescue in the Kawarthas. When he wasn’t puttering around the cottage George enjoyed writing articles in the Old Autos newspaper.
Cremation has taken place and a private family internment held. George’s wish was to have a final party and that will take place in April.
