John Thomas Forde

April 13, 1930 - May 17, 2026

We regret to inform you of Mr. Forde’s passing on the evening of Sunday May 17, 2026 at age 96.

He is survived by his wife Mildred Forde, daughter Elaine Forde, son Bryan Forde and grandson Liam Forde.

Known as Jack to family and friends, he was born and raised in Vancouver B.C. to parents Harry Forde and Vera Roberts. After completing high school and his printing apprenticeship in the early 1950’s he moved east.

Toronto was where the most advanced technical printing methods and equipment in the country were being used at the time and he wanted to be at the leading edge. His quick mind, keen eye for detail and strong work ethic served him well over the years. He continued to work part time at his craft until well into his 80s.

Once established in Toronto, he eventually met, and married his wife of 66 years, Mildred Black. They have lovingly shared each other’s lives over the decades since. Son Bryan arrived in 1960 and daughter Elaine in 1963.

Although he is in a better place now he will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation will take place at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E, Scarborough, ON, M1R2Y8, CA, on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Chapel Service at 3:00 pm.

Committal will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 2700 Kingston Rd, Toronto, ON, M1M 1M5, CA, on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
