Mary Helen Barbeito

After a courageous nine-year battle with cancer, Mary slipped away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at age 79. She is survived by her beloved & devoted husband of 60 years, Mike Barbeito, whose unwavering love was the foundation of the life they built together. She leaves behind her source of pride & joy, her children, Dolores Bertin, Catherine Black (Mike) & Brian Barbeito (Tara). Mary was a treasured grandmother to Sarah Rainey, Diane Black; Brandon, Joshua & Raquel Barbeito, & great-grandmother to Cayden, Emily, Seamus, & Coen Rainey, who lit up her life. She will be missed by her siblings, Frank Fecteau (Sally), Elaine Jevnikar (Slav) & Mike’s siblings, Peter (Bev), Ralph (Jan), John, Betty Bernier Egsgard & (brother-in-law) Dominic Capalbo. Also, by her nieces & nephews, Jillian, Steven, Christopher, Nikki, James, Michelle, Eric, Nadia, Marissa, Donna, Cheryl, David, Jennifer, Richard, James & Christine. As well as relatives, friends and acquaintances. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Frank & Helen; her siblings Greg & Claire (Long) & Mike’s sister Mary Anne Capalbo. Mike & Mary started Scarboro Pump over 50 years ago & they built it into a successful business. Mary loved cruising & couldn't wait to be on the next ship. She has now embarked on her last voyage with Our Lord steering. It's hoped that Mary's determination as well as her kindness will be an inspiration to all who knew her. Special thanks to the caregivers at North York General Hospital for their dedication.
