

Passed away at Seven Oaks Long-Term Care Home on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Mary was predeceased by her parents Patrick and Mary Nicol and her brother John. She will be missed by her sisters Eileen Nicol and Margaret Calderone and brother-in-law John Calderone. Mary was a teacher for over 30 years with most of her career spent at St Maria Goretti Catholic elementary school in Scarborough. She was a very active member of Precious Blood Parish for many years and in that time trained many wonderful altar servers, was the parish sacristan, was the Chairman of a successful Capital Campaign, was the leader of the Eucharistic Adoration Ministry and was always willing to help out in the parish office when needed. Mary and her sisters recorded a record of Catholic hymns and were involved in the music ministry at Corpus Christi parish in Toronto in her younger days. Mary also wrote 6 books about the Catholic faith which were self-published. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Toronto Wildlife Centre would be appreciated.

Funeral Mass on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Precious Blood Church; 1737 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto, Ontario, M1R 2X7. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
