

Peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the age of 67.
Beloved husband of the late Pamela Reina Thain (d. 2010), with whom he shared over twenty-five wonderful years of marriage.
Loving father of Jacqueline and Deryck. Proud and cherished Grandpa of Amaya.
Treasured son of the late Boris Bogoeff and the late Edith Maynard.
Nick will be lovingly remembered by his dear brother Michael (Arnida); his brother-in-law Rick (Réjeanne); and his nieces and nephew, Kyla, Kevin, Kaitlin, Geneviève, and Carolyne.
He will also be deeply missed by Uncle Conrad and family; Aunt Marion and family; the Nickoloffs; cousins; grandnieces; and members of his extended family across Alberta and the Netherlands. Nick will be fondly remembered by his education colleagues, bandmates, and many dear friends.
Nick grew up in Scarborough. After graduating from Winston Churchill Collegiate Institute and Humber College (Music), he earned his B.A. in Music from York University. He was a much-loved and dedicated teaching assistant for many years in Toronto’s elementary public schools. In addition to teaching private music lessons, Nick was an accomplished saxophone player who performed for decades within the GTA’s vibrant music scene highlighted by more than forty years playing in The Hip Kings, and more recently with Glenn Marais & The Mojo Train and The Uptown Swing Band.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Warden and Pharmacy), on Saturday, February 28, Visitation at 11:00 a.m.; Celebration at 12:00 p.m. followed by a reception until 3:00 pm.
Cremation has taken place.
