Orlando Tiano, born on December 1, 1940, in Sotsi, Cosenza, Italy, passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and a man whose strength, kindness, and dedication touched all who knew him.
Orlando shared a beautiful marriage of 56 years with his beloved wife, Antonietta Tiano. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering support for one another.
He was a cherished father to his daughters, Mirella Tiano-Petruzzo (James Petruzzo), Rosellina Tiano-Cipollone (Cosmo Polidoro), and Daniela Tiano-Mackovski (Steve Mackovski). Orlando took immense pride in his family and worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for them, guide them, and surround them with love.
He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Dante, Vanessa, Katia, Christian, Steven, and David, (Kavon and Tatum) who brought him great joy and were a treasured part of his life.
Orlando was the beloved son of the late Gaetano and Rosina. He was one of eleven children and shared a lifelong bond with his ten siblings, growing up in a large and loving family that shaped his strong values of loyalty, resilience, and devotion.
In 1964, with courage and determination, Orlando left his family and homeland to begin a new life and build a brighter future. Through sacrifice, hard work, and perseverance, he created opportunities for the generations that followed. Orlando carried with him the values of hard work, loyalty, and family tradition.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Orlando built his career as a cement finisher but was a jack of all trades. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his strong work ethic, skill, and determination. He believed in providing for his family through honest labor and perseverance.
Outside of work, Orlando found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved gardening, making homemade wine, preparing salami, prosciutto and soppressata and carrying on the cherished traditions of his Italian heritage. He was happiest when surrounded by family, sharing food, stories, laughter, and the fruits of his labor.
Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the legacy he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He will be remembered for his warm heart, steady presence, wisdom, and the deep love he had for those closest to him.
