Rick Turner

Passed away peacefully after a courageous and determined battle with cancer on Monday, April 28, 2025 in his 73rd year. Rick was a loving and proud father to Dallas Turner, Will and Emma Woodbine and grandfather to Justice Turner. Rick will be fondly remembered by Nancy Woodbine. He was predeceased by his parents, William James Turner and Betty Isobel (nee Copp). He is survived by his brothers Ken (Kimberlee), Frank (Lianne) and his sisters Mary (Gord), Jean (Danny) and Trish (Colin). He will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Rick began his career with Scarborough Fire in 1974, rising to the rank of Captain. Rick retired from Toronto Fire with 36 years of service. He was a former employee of Giffen-Mack Funeral Home on Danforth Avenue where he worked part time as a Funeral Director's Assistant for a number of years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. East (just west of Warden Ave.) on Monday, May 12th from 12:30 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. The service will be available through Livestream for those that are unable to attend.
