Born on July 25, 1940, in Monteleone, Italy, Rocky was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nicole (née Methot); his parents, Leonardo and Colomba (Morra); his brothers, Lorenzo and Tony; and his brother-in-law, Joseph. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Tina (Steve) and Debbie (Mike); his sons, Lenny (Amanda) and Rocky (Kristen); his cherished grandchildren, Shanelle, Sean, and Sid; his sister, Maria Cristina; his brother, Mario; his sister-in-law, Carol; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Rocky met the love of his life, Nicole, at a local café in Toronto. It was also during this time, Rocky became a familiar face at local pool rooms, where he discovered a passion for billiards that would shape much of his life. That passion would grow into a lifelong career as the successful owner and operator of Rocky's Billiards and Snooker Canada. Through these businesses, Rocky built a vibrant community of players and friends who became like a second family. He generously shared his love of the game, always willing to teach and encourage anyone interested in learning snooker.
Known for his quick wit, inherited from his mother, Rocky loved gathering around a card table for a game of gin. When he won, which was often, he would proudly sing "Che La Luna," turning even defeat into a moment of laughter and good spirits. Beyond cards and billiards, Rocky enjoyed golf, listening to music, soaking up the sun and warmth, and caring for his beloved birds, Champ and Rocky. Never one to slow down, he later worked for a technology company and remained on the job until he was forced to hang up his gloves at the age of 75.
Rocky remained a fighter and a champion until his final day, holding on until all of his children were by his side to say their goodbyes.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Thompson House for their compassion, care, and support during Rocky’s final chapter.
