Frederick Eugene Ball II

Fred was a devoted husband to Linda Ball for fifty years. In addition to Linda, he is survived by his children Christine Ball and Justin Ball, his grandchildren, Josie, Luke, Ava, and his sister Betty [Hank] Sprouse.

The son of William Ball and Mae Eichler, he was born in Arlington Heights, IL on November 20, 1945. He graduated from Williams College in 1967, of which he was particularly proud. He also earned an MBA from The Wharton School in 1972 and in between those degrees, he joined the Navy and served as an LT JG aboard the USS Thomas for three years.

After graduating from Wharton he worked at The Bank of New York where he held a variety of jobs including lending to companies in the securities, natural resource, and insurance industries. He retired after 30 years there in 2002.

In the last several years of his life, he and Linda returned to Brooklyn Heights where they lived when they were first married but Scarsdale would forever remain their home. The funeral service will be held at Bennett's Funeral Home with a visitation from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and a prayer service from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
