Louise M. Montagano, passed away on May 27 at the New York State Veterans Home at Montrose. She was 93 years young. Louise was born on April 22, 1923, in New York City to the late Joseph and Betty Selvagi Petrucelli. She was widely considered to be the best wife/mother/grandmother/sister/aunt/friend, and her loss is profoundly felt by those lucky enough to have known her.
Louise was everyone's favorite lunch lady for over twenty years at Eastchester High School. She was an avid reader of generally suspect dime-store novels, and watched more episodes of General Hospital than she would’ve liked to admit. She loved being surrounded by her family, was a wonderful listener, and offered a safe space to anyone who needed her sweetness and compassion.
She is survived by her brother, Joseph Petrucelli and his wife Joan, her two grandchildren, Beth and Kenneth, her son-in-law, Christopher, her sisters-in-law Mary and Dorothy, and her many adoring nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Daniel, her siblings Rose, Beatrice, Michael, and Richard, and her daughter, Brenda.
