Maria Meyer, 90, of Hartsdale New York passed away Friday November 1, 2024, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Maria was born November 19, 1933, in Gottschee (currently Slovenia) to Rupert and Hilde Zose. She immigrated with her family to the United States and made a home in Queens, New York in 1950. She married William Meyer (predeceased 12/3/14) on 11/30/57 raising 4 children together.
Maria was a sweet and gentle soul that adored her family and loved gardening. She was patient, kind and nurturing. Maria is survived by her 4 children, Rose Meyer of Hartsdale, New York, Karen Boyer (Stephen) of Greenwich, Connecticut, Heidi Lemanski (Ted) of Wantagh, New York and Bob Meyer (Mary) of Nokomis, Florida along with her sister Hilde Bender, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Calling hours to honor Maria’s life will be held at the Edwin L Bennett Funeral Home on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 3PM – 7PM.
A gathering will follow the Memorial Service the location to be determined..
