Mary I. Murray

Daughter of James W. and Irene Farrell McLaughlin, “Mary I” was born in Charleston, WV. After moving to New Rochelle, NY she graduated from the Ursuline School and attended Finch College. She moved to Scarsdale in 1960. A parishioner for 57 years at St. Pius X Church in Scarsdale, she was a president of the Marian Guild in the 1960’s. A longtime summer resident of South Yarmouth, MA, Mary I loved spending her summers on Cape Cod; a few of her favorites: the Lighthouse Inn, numerous craft shows, shopping, Thursday night Bingo, the Ice House Road Association Picnic, entertaining her friends, and sitting quietly looking out on the water of Long Pond.

She was married for 51 years to her husband John A. Murray who passed away in 2009. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law William and Vanessa Murray of Bordentown, NJ, her daughter Julia Berberian of Hamden, CT and her granddaughters Katherine and Caroline Berberian also of Hamden, CT as well as numerous nieces and nephews and friends too numerous to count.

The viewing will take place at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home www.elbennettfuneralhomes.com in Scarsdale on Friday, October 27th from 6 to 9 PM. The funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X Church in Scarsdale at 10 AM Saturday, October 28th. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Pius X Church by calling 914-725-2755.
