Sullivan, Rosemary Margaret (nee Tripoli) -- died of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) on November 23, 2018. She was 76. Born and raised in Yonkers, N.Y., Rosemary was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Margaret Gardella Tripoli and younger sister to the late Peter and late Buddy Tripoli. Rosemary graduated from Mount Saint Vincent college in 1964 and married fellow Yonkers native Daniel Sullivan in 1965. They were happily married 40 years until his death in 2005. Rosemary was a long-time resident of Scarsdale, N.Y., where she and Dan raised their five children. Rosemary worked in classified advertising for the Scarsdale Inquirer newspaper and then as a real estate agent for Cleveland E. Van Wert, Inc. She was active in the community as a member of the Scarsdale Women’s Club where she met life-long friends, a religion teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and an avid supporter of Scarsdale’s youth and high school athletics programs. After living in Scarsdale for nearly 3 decades, Rosemary and Dan re-located to New York City. During the 17 years that she was a resident of Manhattan, Rosemary enjoyed the company of children during her afternoons working as a receptionist at Marymount School of New York. Rosemary is survived by her 5 loving children: Daniel Jr. and his wife Jennifer; Regan Santangelo and her husband Louis; Gregory and his wife Susannah; Paul and his wife Catherine; and Elizabeth and her husband Maurizio. She is the devoted grandmother to 9 grandchildren ages 2 to 23 years old who will dearly miss their beloved “Grosie”.
Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday November 27, 2018 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Scarsdale. Entombment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Valhalla NY.
Visitation will be held on Monday November 26, 2018 from 4-8PM at the Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes 824 Scarsdale Ave Scarsdale NY.
