My earliest memories of Sangeeth go back 45 years to the time we climbed the  7 hills in India (described by my aunt Jayanthy Pratap) as children.  I feel fortunate to have  met Sangeeth last friday in hospital. She was a very brave soul.

sangeeths passing is a great loss for her family and friends. it is a great personal loss for me as I knew my cousin from a very young age  Her sharp intellect and brilliance were matched equally by her kindness compassion and empathy for others.  She was a loving soul and had so much more  to offer to this world .  she will live on in the great work her husband Chris is doing and her dear son Alex will do in coming years.

I grew up in Edgemont and have fond memories of when Sangeeth used to come by my house to hang out with my older sister Kathy while they were in high school.  She has always been one of Kathy’s oldest and dearest friends.  She was always kind to me throughout the years and welcomed me “tagging along” with my big sister.  There is no question that Sangeeth will be missed.

The fond memories keep pouring
In summer of 1976 for the first time since Sangeeth's mom left Chennai. in 1968 .and after her marriage and birth of Sangeeth
the family visited Chennai and as always stayed with my parents.

Usha expressed her wish to visit Tirupathi ..abode of  god Perumal
Lord of the seven hills . As usual my father made all the arrangements. All of us traveled in many cars.
My parents , Usha , G uncle, Sangeeth, Gita,Titu ,newly weds  Babu Jaishree, Pratap, Arati & me.
All the ladies and Sangeeth 4+yrs, Arati 3+ yrs also walked with us
enjoying each others company and never complaining. .walking over 7 hills. All the men came by car and at each crossing , we feasted on South Indian food they had bought at the hotel.
Sangeeth & Arati loved the food.
Jaishree's parents also accompaned all of us
It was a memorable religious family trip together.
At Usha's wish I was happy to assist in dear Sangeeth's and Chris's lovely wedding in 2000
In 2005 at her home in Boston  Sangeeth, Chris & her parents invited all of us for lunch. It was an enjoyable family gathering. I remember holding Alex who was not yet 3 months old and later also spoke to him & Chris
We are all fortunate that Sangeeth was a part of our whole family

Remembering Sangeeth always.
We shared being Lawrence school moms and physicians. Our families went to trumpet concerts, birthday parties,  and visited to the Museum of Natural History on the upper west side together.

The world lost a very bright light - Sangeeth was a wonderful, fun, smart, and loving person and we were delighted to be a small part of her life.  I remember having dinner at  Sangeeth, Chris, and Alex's apartment while they lived in Brookline. We also spent a lovely afternoon walking around New York City on a weekend when both families were there.  She was a joy, my heart is heavy with her loss.

It is heartbreaking to learn of Sangeeth ‘s passing.
We have known her as a dedicated person to her family and to her profession.
She was cheerful and went about her day in a quiet manner.
To Chris and to Alex : your loss is great and your only consolation is that she is in a better place without pain or discomfort .
It is hard to say goodbye .

My condolences to Sangeeth's husband, Christopher and her son, Alex. Sangeeth was a beautiful young lady at Edgemont High School. So smart. So kind.  I had the pleasure of being in many of her classes. I look at the my children now and hope they can strive to do well in school just like Sangeeth did. She was always one of the smartest in our grade.
