Viola Dieck of Scarsdale, New York passed away April 30, 2026. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on October 25, 1931, Vi was the daughter of the late Charles Feehan and Viola Gately. She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert Dieck to whom she was married for fifty years and is survived by her sons Robert, William, and John, ten grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren. Her children, grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren gave her much joy, especially in her later years. Vi experienced a full, life-changing career in the travel industry that brought her to the four corners of the world and instilled in those around her a zest for travel. She especially loved spending time on Long Beach Island where she spent many summer weeks over the course of her lifetime.
An extraordinary woman guided by her deep faith, she was always the first to take on any adventure, impart important advice to her grandchildren, offer a hand to others, review a recently read book, or take in a Broadway show or ballet (and check out a local bar after the performance!). For many years, she served as a Eucharistic Minister in her home parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary, and brought holy Communion to many both in her neighborhood and at White Plains Hospital. Her love of family made her home a central meeting place filled with fun, laughter, and sing-a-longs at the piano. Her impact on the lives around her will extend to future generations. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A wake will be held at Bennett Funeral Home on Monday, May 4 from 3PM-7PM and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 5 at 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Covenant House .
