Ammon K. Martin

Ammon K. Martin, 91, of Ephrata, PA, formerly of Schaefferstown, PA, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 after a brief illness in the Ephrata Community Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary W. Weaver Martin. He was born September 17, 1919 in Lancaster County a son of the late Clayton C. and Lizzie H. Kurtz Martin. Ammon was employed as a farmer and later as a salesman for Carlos R. Leffler, Inc. He was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference. He is survived by children, Leon A. husband of Nadine Smith Martin of SC; Grace I. wife of Earl G. Martin of Ephrata; Harold J. husband of Sylvia Zimmerman Martin of Brownstown; Marlin L. husband of Marlene Rutt Martin of Newmanstown; Judy A. wife of Clarence Weiler of Myerstown; Sharlene W. wife of Harold Weiler of Salunga; Janet W. wife of Melvin Martin of Denver; Dale W. husband of Marie Nolt Martin of Myerstown; 34 grandchildren; 82 great grandchildren; brothers, Aaron K. husband of Susan Eby Martin of Ephrata and John K. husband of Esther Hurst Martin of Denver; sisters, Mary Witmer of Mt. Gretna and Nora High of Honey Grove. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harvey, Ellis and Allen Martin; sister, Edna Martin. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 9:30 AM in the Fairview Mennonite Church, Elco Drive, Myerstown, PA. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fairview Mennonite Reception Center, 141 Jackson Road, Lebanon, PA. Please omit flowers.
