

Doris A. Regar, 87, of Wyomissing, PA, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013, surrounded by her family in the Keystone Villa at Fleetwood. She was born in Reading on November 6, 1925, a daughter of the late Harold A. and Lottie K. (Heckman) Strausser. She was the wife of Richard Edward Regar with whom she was married to for 55 years.
A 1943 graduate of Reading High School, Doris was employed by the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, retiring after 34 years of service. She was a member of the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ of West Lawn. Known for her caring nature, she enjoyed volunteering at the Public Library of Sinking Spring, the soup kitchen in Reading, and the Greater Berks Food Bank. She loved watching old movies, reading, listening to music, and traveling the world with friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by herson, Todd Richard Regar and his wife Elizabeth of Mechanicsburg, PA, and her grandsons, Derek J. Regar, Jack M. Regar, and Chad M. Regar; and a sister, Ellen L. Clauser of Myerstown, PA. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Arden Lynn Regar and brother, Richard Allen Strausser.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend A Celebration of Her Life on Saturday, September 28 at 11:00 AM in the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 2901 Curtis Road, West Lawn, PA 19609, with a visitation beginning on Saturday at 10:00 AM.
