Dennis James Walsh

WALSH, Dennis James- Age 85, of Scituate, passed away on November 17, 2025. He was the son of the late Gerald and Virginia Walsh of Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Born in Toronto, he grew up in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Dennis was a graduate from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, where he met the love of his life, Katherine Elizabeth (Connell) from Reading, MA. He graduated with a BS in Engineering. He excelled in both hockey and football.

He was a math and computers teacher for his entire career. He taught at Cohasset High School in Massachusetts for over 30 years, where he was the head football coach and head hockey coach for many of those years. An avid Sailor and Boston sports fan. Former commodore of the Satuit Boat Club. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Beloved father to Christopher Walsh of Hingham, MA. Timothy Walsh and his wife Margaret Walsh of Milton, MA, Robert Walsh and his wife Trish Walsh of Yarmouth, MA. Angela Walsh and husband Kevin Norton of Scituate, MA.

Cherished grandfather of Timothy Walsh, Jr, Mark Walsh, Summer Liska and her husband Toby Liska, Matthew Walsh, John Walsh, Caitlin Walsh, Nora Walsh, Colin Walsh, and Shane Norton as well as great grandfather of Toby Liska, Jr and Myles Liska.

He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Diane Rochefort and husband Phil Rochefort of Nova Scotia, Stephen Walsh and wife Bonnie Walsh of Milton, Ontario, Christopher Walsh and his wife Donna Walsh of Montreal, Quebec.

A visitation will be held on Sunday November 23, 2025 from 3pm-7pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday November 24, 2025 at 11am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate.
