Francis L Nelson

Frank served with the US Army/Air Force during WWII as a Corporal taking aerial photos while serving in Guam.

He had a lifelong career with Metropolitan Life Ins. of NY, and moved to Leisurewoods Senior Community in Rockland, MA in 1992, where he enjoyed gardening and weekly poker games. In 2011, Frank moved to Allerton House Assisted Living, Weymouth, enjoying spending time with the staff and his fellow residents, and being an active participant in community activities. He loved being with family, friends, and particularly, his grandsons.

Devoted father of JoAnn Ignelzi Herzfeld and her husband John of Belmont, MA and Marie (Ignelzi) Schlag and her husband William of Scituate, MA.

Brother of Louis Nelson of Stamford, CT, Marie Rosenthal of Eastchester, NY and Patricia Nelson of New Rochelle, NY.

Proud grandfather of Matthew Herzfeld, Christopher, David and Andrew Schlag.

Friends and Family are invited to the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate for visitation on Monday, Jan. 13th from 3:30PM to 7:30PM. A funeral service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan 14th at 10AM followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Scituate.
