

Born in Archbald PA, son of the late Henry and Mary (Dougher) Curtis, he attended the University of Scranton, where he played varsity basketball and was voted team MVP for the 1956 season. After graduation, Gerald served in the US Army and then went on to a distinguished career as a Senior Executive in the publishing industry for over 46 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Mary Jane (Grogan) Curtis, as well as his three children, Gerald (Darlene, Meghan) Curtis of Sudbury, MA., Mary Collette (Jon) Sullivan of Warwick, RI., and Patrick (Olga) Curtis of Millis, MA. In addition he is survived by 2 grandchildren, Thomas Sullivan and Emily Curtis, as well as a special niece, Kathleen Grogan Noldy and her family.
The oldest of 8 children Gerald is survived by John ( Margaret) Curtis of Texas, Barbara (David) Sidlauskas of California, Mary (Thomas) Dolph, Robert (Betty Ann) Curtis, Eugene Curtis, Margaret (Gary) Farina, and Judy ( John) Gilroy, all of Archbald, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Gerald was an avid sportsman who enjoyed boating and golfing.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate on Friday, Jan. 16th from 4PM to 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Nativity Churchm, 1 Kent St, Scituate on Saturaday, Jan 17th at 12PM followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Scituate.
