Helen L D'Alessandro

Beloved wife of 55 years to William T. D’Alessandro. Loving mother of Richard D’Alessandro of Sacramento, CA, Catherine Martin and her husband Wayne of Marshfield. Devoted grandmother to Alexandra and John of Marshfield.

Daughter of the late Helen (Dufficy) & Kenneth Ross of New Bedford, sister of the late Kenneth J Ross 1SG US Army, she is survived by her sister, Frances Ross, Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Graduate of Holy Family High School, 1953, and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1956.

As a Registered Nurse, Helen dedicated her life to the profession and worked for over 30 years at Cohasset Knoll Nursing Home. She provided comfort to those in need, she was the voice for those who could not speak, and she was empathetic to the pain and suffering of her patients. In her final two years, she was lovingly cared for by the nurses at Cardigan Nursing Home who provided the same level of compassion she provided. Taking her place in the circle of life, a number of the nurses that cared for her were nurse’s aides she worked with during her long career. Helen passed away in no better hands than those of a nurse, and surrounded by the caring nurses at South Shore Hospital, and in the hearts of her family.

A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10:00am, St. Mary’s Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate, MA. Please leave a message of condolence to the family in the online guestbook dedicated to Mrs. D'Alessandro.
