James R. Walker

James R. Walker – Of Scituate, formerly of Norwood passed away at home on the morning of Feb. 13, 2016 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Helen J. (Cullen) Walker, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

Devoted father of James A. Walker & his wife Beth of Athol, Robert J. Walker of Randolph, Bonnie J. Reekie & her husband Craig of Norwood, John W. “Jack” Walker of Scituate and Richard E. Walker of Hingham. Cherished Grandpa of Christine, Cathy, Adam, Erin, John, Kelsey, Jessica, Sam, Jake and Nick and 9 great grandchildren.

Loving brother of Thomas Walker & his wife Mary of Norwood, John Walker & his wife Anita of Plymouth and the late William Walker. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was a US Coast Guard Veteran of WWII and had a lifelong love of the ocean. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. Former member IUOE Local 4.

Visiting hours will take place Thursday Feb. 18 from 4-8 PM at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, SCITUATE. Funeral home service Friday Feb. 19 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in his memory be made to South Shore Hospice, 30 Reservoir Park Dr., Rockland, MA 02370 in appreciation of the excellent care he received in his last days.
