DONAHUE, Joseph J. of Scituate passed away Monday, October 10, 2011, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends until he was called by God. He was the beloved husband and best friend for over 48 years of Josephine B. (Small), loving father of John Donahue and his wife Mary of Goldsboro, N.C., Michael Donahue and his wife Lisa of Raynham, MA, and Patricia DuBry of Scituate, MA, and an amazing loving grandfather to John Donahue Jr., Patrick Donahue, Aidan Donahue, Sophie Donahue, Michael DuBry and Kaitlyn DuBry. Joe was the Throws Coach for the Northeastern University Track & Field Team since 1970. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Scituate Council 3716 for 40 years.
Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 13th from 4PM to 8PM at the Richardson–Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St, Scituate on Friday, October 14th at 11AM followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Scituate.
