

He was the beloved husband of Mary T. (Conroy) McLellan, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
Devoted father of Daniel McLellan of Alexandria, VA, Michael McLellan and his wife Lisa of Duxbury, Joseph McLellan, Jr. and his wife Kristin of Plymouth, Teresa Ricard of Carver and Kevin McLellan and his wife Stacy of Scituate. Cherished Grampy to 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren with another arriving in November.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Daniel H. and Aileen (Killett) McLellan. Loving brother of James McLellan and his wife Mary of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and the late Donald McLellan, Margaret Bettencourt and Eileen Dardinski. He is also survived by a great many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe worked for more than 50 years as a Union Carpenter with Local No. 67. He was a proud US Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion and Elks Club in Fort Myers, FL and the Scituate Knights of Columbus. He was a family man with a great sense of humor and never failed to laugh at his own jokes. Mac’s family will remember him as being larger than life with a big personality and a special knack for collecting others’ well-loved treasures. He and Mary enjoyed many winters in their Florida home, but especially loved time spent with their family in Scituate.
Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., SCITUATE on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 9 AM with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate.
Interment to follow at Union Cemetery.
Visiting hours will take place Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
