Lillian Santia, 96, of Scituate passed away peacefully on November 9, 2021. Lily was a lifelong resident of Scituate, apart from some exciting decades spent living in New York City. In New York, Lily worked in the Empire State Building, and she always loved to recall stories of her days there, including catching glimpses of famous faces such as Marilyn Monroe and Queen Elizabeth. A conversation with Lily would always leave one feeling both awed at the breadth of her life and touched by the warmth of her heart. Lily was a genuinely kind and gentle soul with a keen wit and strong faith. A parishioner of St. Anthony’s in Cohasset (and formerly of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini in Scituate), Lily was always quick to entrust her cares to the Lord and encourage others to do the same. She is predeceased by her parents Anna and Leo Santia, along with her brother Joseph and his beloved wife Ann Santia. She is survived by sister Mary Santia, several loving nieces and nephews, and countless great and great-great nieces and nephews. While Lily’s peaceful presence in our lives will be missed, we rejoice to know that she is now home with the Lord.
