Lois Marie (Greek) Edwards, 81, of Scituate, MA, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of January 24th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Lois lived with endurance, resilience, and joy despite battling Parkinson’s for the past 18 years. She was the beloved wife of Thomas B. Edwards, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Dorchester, MA, Lois was the daughter of the late Chester and Mildred (Jordan) Greek. When Mildred passed in Lois's early childhood, Yvette (St.Hilaire) Greek soon became Lois's Mom and, ultimately, Grandma Greek to Lois's and her brother, Bob Greek’s children.
Lois was a devoted mother and mother-in-law to Tom and Erin Edwards of Hebron, NH, John and Heather Edwards of Duxbury, MA, and Lori and Terence Shea of Scituate, MA, and a cherished grandmother, “Mimi,” of Emily and Amanda Shea and Abigail, Jack, Broderick, Ella, Jordan, and Noah Edwards. A beloved sister of Bob Greek and sister-in-law to Claire, Jack, Phil, Peter, Sandy, and Joan Edwards, and Helen Greek. Lois was predeceased by her adored niece, Kristin Greek. Lois is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country, for whom she cared deeply.
Lois and her family were blessed to have had the gift of Agustina “Maribel” Anderson, her personal healthcare professional, for the past 5 years of Lois's life. Maribel's extraordinary approach combined knowledge and experience with love, compassion, and an immense level of trustworthiness that enhanced each moment of Lois's time. Kathleen Campbell, RN, was an invaluable partner to Maribel and the entire family, providing critical and much-appreciated support and guidance. The Edwards family would also like to acknowledge and thank CROI Health for their tremendous care.
A graduate of Burdett College, Lois's career included 30 dedicated years focused on the students of the special education school Cardinal Cushing School and Training Center in Hanover, MA, teaching students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive with vocational skills.
