

Lois Ann (O’Brien) Risi - 90, of Scituate, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Guido Joseph Risi, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage before his passing in 2021.
Born in Quincy, MA to the late Dr. Walter M. and Althea J. (DuWors) O'Brien, Lois attended the Woodward School for Girls and earned her teaching degree in 1954 at Bridgewater Teachers College, where she met her husband. She taught English as a Second Language in the Scituate school system to children who at that time had recently emigrated from the Cape Verde Islands. She made lifelong friends with some of her students' families. She also worked many years at the Hanover Mall and the Scituate Federal Savings Bank.
Lois embraced her Roman Catholic faith. Along with her husband, she was involved in the Cursillo movement, taught religious education and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary of the Nativity for decades, where she brought Communion to the local nursing homes.
Mother of Eugene Risi and his wife Mary Jo of Essex, VT, Deborah Risi of Scituate, James Risi and his wife Jennifer of Franklin, MA.
Grandmother of Bryan, Joseph, Nina, Joseph, Matthew, Adam, Katherine and great grandmother to Alessandra.
Sister to the late Jean McDonald and Janet Doyle.
A visitation will be held at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, on Thursday, July 13th from 9:30 AM -10: 30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Catholic Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate Harbor. Interment immediately following at Mount Wollaston Cemetery, 20 Sea Street, Quincy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
