Richard was a 1954 graduate of Boston College, where he proudly played football. He was a Boston Police Officer and served in the Korean War as a Navy Corpsman. Richard worked in sales for John Hancock Insurance Co. and in timeshare sales in Orlando, FL.
Loving father of MaryAnn Catania of PA, Joan Maloney of Agawam, Kristen McKenna of Norwell, Susanne Stanley of Wakefield, and Margaret Bennette of Pembroke, and the late Paula M. Evans. Brother of Barbara McGovern of Quincy. He was the proud grandfather of 11. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, December 20th at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate at 11AM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Boston College football program in memory of Richard Maloney, Class of 1954.
