

Beloved husband to the late Helen L. (Ross) D’Alessandro, the love of his life to whom he was married to for 55 years. Loving father to Richard D’Alessandro of Portland, Oregon, Catherine Martin and her husband Wayne of Marshfield, MA. Devoted grandfather to Alexandra and John Martin of Marshfield.
Son of the late Lucy (Lucia Mascitti) & John (Giovanni) D’Alessandro of Jamaica Plain, formally of Ortona & Arielle Italy, brother of the late Joanne M. Fischer of Illinois.
Graduate of Medford High School, 1950, and Northeastern University, 1957, BS Business Administration.
William served his country with honor in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and served during the Korean War as a Corporal in the Military Police Corps and received both the Good Conduct and National Defense Service Medals. His quest for law & order continued until retirement as a Federal Officer with the Veterans Administration.
William had a zeal for hunting and a passion for fitness. While he was able, you could find him swimming up and down Minot beach during the summer, making the roundtrip from Surfside to Well Rock. In his final 11 weeks, he was lovingly cared for by the compassionate nurses and staff at Cardigan Nursing Home and passed away surrounded by the same nurses that also lovingly cared for his wife, she a former nurse, and in the hearts of his family.
