Angela R Quijas

Angela R. Quijas, 83, of Scottsbluff, died Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Visitation will be held from 1-7 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 with a Rosary Service at 7 PM at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jonathan Sorensen officiating. Inurnment will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Tributes may be left at www.dugankramer.com

Angela was born August 1, 1933 at Bridgeport, Nebraska to Ysidor and Librada (Garcia) Sanchez. She received her education in Alliance. She was united in marriage to Jesus “Jess” Quijas, Sr. on November 17, 1952 at Alliance, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Scottsbluff following Jess’ service to his country in the U.S. Army.

Angela was a member of Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Altar Society, GI Form, VFW Auxiliary, and the Knights of Columbus. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, and gardening. She loved being a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Angela is survived by her children: Kathy Quijas, Lillian (Wilfredo) Figueroa, Monica Quijas, Mike (Mercedes) Quijas, Salvador Quijas, Daniel (Elvira) Quijas, Jess (Sandra) Quijas, Jr., Tracy (Terrance) Ruddick, and Sandra D. Quijas; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Josephine (David) Leon and Charlotte Ysac; twin brother Angelo (Annie) Sanchez; sisters nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Jess E. Sanchez, Mary Razo, Francis Rodriguez, Leo Sanchez, and Charles Cruz Sanchez.
