Charles D. “Chuck” Bender, 76 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Regional West Medical Center. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Father Don Burhman and Father Robert Karnish officiating. A private family inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery. At his request, cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory. He was born on October 18, 1928 in Nebraska to A.H. and Ruth (Warthen) Bender. He worked with his father at Bender Shoe Shop in Gering and was a custodian at the Scottsbluff Public Schools for 28 years. He married Jacque Bowling. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1367 and St. Agnes Catholic Church. Chuck will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife Jacque Bender of Scottsbluff, son Terry Bender of Larkspur, CO and brother Wayne Bender of Salem, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents.
