Christopher ""Chris Reed

Christopher M. “Chris” Reed, 41, of Scottsbluff, died Friday, April 22, 2016 at Scottsbluff. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the shelter house at City Park in Alliance. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com.

Chris was born on May 23, 1974 to Richard Reed and Patricia Van Natta at Galesburg, Illinois. He began his early school years in Illinois and moved to Alliance with his family in 1984. He attended Alliance Public Schools. Chris received his GED in his 30’s.

Chris had a long time dream of being a DJ and had a talent for art. He talked for hours about the latest technology and his tracks he remixed on his DJ console. He read and studied about many religions.

Chris loved the beauty of nature and little kids brought a smile to his face. He had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone. He had a great sense of humor.

Chris left a large family and many friends who miss him dearly. Those left to mourn him are his mother Patricia Deffebaugh of Alliance; brother William Reed of Alliance; nephew Nick Knopnicki of Alliance; family friend Larry Hudson of Alliance; uncles David (Lisa) Van Natta of Pekin, Illinois and Ken (Carolyn) Van Natta of Galesburg, Illinois; aunt Cindy (Terry) English of Marietta, Illinois; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; aunt Deb; and brother Timothy.
