

David R. Anderson, 62 was born December 29, 1943 in Scottsbluff, NE. He died at Regional West Medical Center after a long illness, on Thursday July 26 with his Lord waiting for him with open welcoming arms. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff, NE. Services will be held at the church on Monday, July 31, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Ray Venghaus officiating. He graduated, along with his wife, from Banner County School in 1962. He graduated from Southeast Community College in Milford, NE with a degree in diesel technology. He was a life-long resident of Banner County and owned a home in Steamboat Springs, CO where he and his wife, Judy, lived full-time from 1997-late 2004. While living in Steamboat they were members of Concordia Lutheran Church. They moved back to Banner County in November of 2004. David was active with community, church, and family. He served on the board of ESU No. 13 for 14 years, held many various offices in the church, and did volunteer work with the Elks Lodge 1367 of which he was a member. He was a member of the Rotary Club in Kimball, NE, and a past area director of Federation Wrestling for youth. He farmed and ranched in Banner County, was co-owner and General Manager of Kimball Ford in Kimball, NE. His employees and the Chamber of Commerce of Kimball, NE named him “Boss of the Year”. During the years he and his wife lived in Colorado, they managed property, did painting and carpentry, and set tile. Most recently they owned and operated “Nana and Poppa’s Place”, a food concession business. David was a “fix anything” kind of person and loved woodworking, the Huskers, and his dogs. His family and friends were so important to him and were his biggest treasures. He and his wife Judy Harris were married June 7, 1964 in Kimball, Nebraska. He is survived by his wife, his parents, Ralph and Imogene Anderson of Scottsbluff, NE. He was their only child. He is also survived by his sons and daughter-in-laws, Michael and Heidi and Mark and Tiffani all of Banner County. His grand children, Olivia, 10, Meighan, 12, Kiersten, 5, and Trevor, 3, were the light of his life. Sisters and brothers in law, Donna and Jerry Jacupke, of Hastings, NE, and Peggy and Bob Harris of Augusta, GA, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in numbers too many to count. His grandparents, Rose and Carl Anderson and Ed and May Gulick, and in-laws, Alta and “Blackie” Harris preceded him in death.
