Delores Ann Benjamin

Delores Benjamin died at Goshen Care Center, December 29, 2020. Delores Ann Dummitt was born November 19, 1929 at Bayard, NE. She moved with her parents Iliff and Lucy Dummitt to Morrill, NE. She graduated from Morill High School in 1947.

Delores married Charles Carson, March 27, 1950 and to this union they had three daughters, Cherie, Karyn and Rene’. They farmed South of Lyman, NE, Lingle, WY, and Morrill, NE. Delores worked at Farmers State Bank, Lyman, NE, until she retired in 1988. Charles passed away May 12, 1971.

She married Ivan Benjamin May 25, 1973 and they made their home in Gering, NE until Ivan passed away in 2010. Delores then moved to Torrington, WY to be close to her daughter, Karyn.

Delores was active in Eastern Star and was a Past Worthy Matron of Order of Eastern Star. Her greatest joy was being with family and spoiling her grandchildren. She loved to bake and enjoyed giving out cookie trays. Delores liked to crochet and made beautiful crocheted tablecloths for each of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter Karyn (Brian) Grasmick, granddaughter Amy Bates (Frank Jones), grandson Brent (Kendall) Grasmick, granddaughter Andrea (Josh) Wetherington, three great granddaughters, three great grandsons, two great great granddaughters and two great great grandsons. Sons-in-law Rodger Derr and Sam Adams.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Earl and Irene Carson, mother-in-law Dorthia Benjamin, brother Donald Dummitt, daughters Cherie Carson and Rene’ Adams.

A graveside inurnment memorial service will be held on Monday, June 7 at 10am at Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff with Pastor Matthew Gordon officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com and Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church, Torrington, WY.
