

Donald R. Williamson Sr., 69, of Scottsbluff died July 14, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. His memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday July 19, 2016 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Father Mike McDonald officiating. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Regional West Hospice or to Northern Plains Boxer Rescue (P.O. Donald was born on June 15, 1947 at Sioux City, Iowa to James “Tiny” and Lucille (Bertram) Williamson. He attended Avon High School in South Dakota. He entered the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and served as a purser on the USS Kitty Hawk. His first wife was Joyce Hagel (Cahoy) and to this union 5 children were born. Donald later married Michele Holdsworth on June 29, 2012. Don was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Friend, NE.
Donald believed his greatest achievements in life were his family. He sacrificed and worked hard to be the best husband, father, and grandfather that he could be. Donald spent countless hours and many sleepless nights traveling to always be there for his children when they were young. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as “Grandpa Bowzer”.
Donald is survived by his wife Michele Williamson of Friend, NE; son Don Williamson Jr. (Nicole) of Columbia, SC and their son Andrew; daughter Courtney Johnson (Andrew) of Scottsbluff, NE; daughter Torri Haytack (Bryan) of Brea, CA and their sons Max, Jack, and Sam; daughter Katrina Gonzales (Tim) of Scottsbluff and their children Addison and Aaden; son Dominic Cahoy-Williamson (Lindsay) of Indianapolis, IN and their children Dawson, Ashton, Kiaya, and expectant baby girl; mother Lucille Williamson of Sioux Falls, SD; brother Doug Williamson of Sioux Falls, SD; brother Jim Williamson of Luverne, MN; sister Bonnie Teigh of Winner, SD; sister Barb Holmberg of Golden, MO; and 4 stepgrandchildren.
He is preceded into death by Father James “Tiny” Williamson and his best friend and loyal dog Bowzer.
