

Eddie A. Schultz, 71, of Gering, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2009, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Omaha and to the Shawnee Masonic Lodge #653, c/o the special needs deer hunt, P.O. Box 992, Warsaw, Missouri 65355, in memory of Eddie Schultz. Eddie was born June 23, 1937, to John and Ola Schultz of Lyman. He graduated Morrill High School in 1955, and enlisted in the United States Navy. After a plane crash, he went on to Hiram Scott College and received his teaching degree in 1971, followed by his masters from Chadron State College. He was a teacher and principal at Minatare Elementary School for 21 years. He retired in 1992, to Warsaw Missouri, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and various outdoor activities. He is survived by his wife Shirley of Gering; sons Scott Schultz of Gering; Boyd and Monica Schultz of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter Wendy and Steve Kreiling of Tecumseh; daughter-in-law Karen and Mark Flohr of Scottsbluff; grandchildren Brian and Jami Schultz of Pueblo, Colorado; Sara Schultz of Scottsbluff; Derrie and Sherry Kreiling of Claremore, Oklahoma; Scott Schultz, Jr. of Fort Collins Colorado, Brittany and Jim Velekei of Claremore, Oklahoma; Mason Schultz of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six great-grandchildren; sister, DeLores and Ed Bauer of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brothers Dennis and Sharon Schultz of Scottsbluff; Mike Schultz of Mitchell; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by son John, and his parents.
