

Emilie Meisner, 99, of Scottsbluff, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2010, at Emmanuel Congregational Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor John Adams officiating. Interment will follow at the West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. A memorial has been established to The Festival of Hope (in honor of her daughter). Emilie was born May, 6 1911, on a ship coming from Germany to the United States, to George and Dorothy Haun. She married Herman Meisner March 15, 1933. They farmed in the Lake Alice area for many years. She was a member of Emmanuel Congregational Church at Scottsbluff and the Happy Hour Club at Lake Alice. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards and board games. Survivors include her son Randy (Lana) Meisner of Studio City, California; son-in-law, Art Benzel of Gering; grandchildren, Jana (Steve) Richter of Gering, Dana (Lana) Meisner of Torrington, Wyoming, Heather Leigh of Scottsbluff, and Eric (Stacey) Meisner of Scottsbluff; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lydia Ohlund of Wisconsin. Emilie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Carol Benzel, and sisters, Elizabeth, Mollie, and Alice.
