

Emily “Mike” Ray, 92, of Pt.St. Lucie, FL, died Friday, January 20, 2012. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Lauren Ekdahl officiating. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. A memorial has been established to Prairie Haven Hospice. Emily was born February 21, 1919 at Gering, NE to Josef Otto and Mary (Graf) Reifler. She received her early education in Morrill and attended Scottsbluff High School. She married Wilmer “Bud” Ray December 16, 1933 in Scottsbluff. They made their home in Scottsbluff. In 1984 she moved to Gering and in 2009 to Florida. Emily worked at the City Café, Big John’s Bar B Q Pit and was a bookkeeper for Bud Ray Construction. Emily loved playing cards especially pinochle, traveling and camping, doing crossword puzzles, punch needle pillows and crocheting. She is survived by her son Robert (Virginia) Ray, Okeechobee, Fl; sister Shirley Hood, Gering, NE; brother William Reifler, Lincoln, NE; 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her caregiver of last year granddaughter Carrie Ray, Pt. St. Lucie, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilmer “Bud” Ray.
