Isma was born October 1, 1937 in Lyman, NE to Leonard A. and Mary (Emerson) Thompson, one of ten children. She grew up in the rural area surrounding Lyman, NE and Huntley, WY as the family moved from various farms in the area. She was stricken with polio at the age of 12. She graduated from the Huntley High School in 1956 and went to work at the Forbes Grocery in Lyman, where she met Robert (Bob) Nab. They were married November 22, 1958. She worked at the Scottsbluff Jack & Jill Store for a number of years as a cashier and bookkeeper. In May 1968, she became the mother of her only son, Jeffrey Scott. She worked at the Zoellner’s Clothing LTD in Scottsbluff as a sales associate for several years. In December of 1985, Isma started a career with Wal-Mart being the first employee hired for the Scottsbluff Wal-Mart store – serving as the cash office manager for 21 years. She genuinely loved her job and the associates she worked with and would not think of retiring. While Isma did not have a significant hobby outside work, she thoroughly enjoyed being around other people and spent her off-hours with family and dear friends. She was also an avid Husker football fan and thoroughly enjoyed football season. However, her passion was her three grandsons; she loved to spend time with them and spoil them rotten. Survivors include her husband, Robert Nab; son: Scott Nab and his wife Lisa of Carrollton, KY; grandsons: Aaron Nab, Gering, NE, Kaleb and Kameron Nab, Carrollton, KY; sisters: Idell Bower, Torrington, WY, Pat Stone, Ocean Springs, MS, Sharon Gilmore, Springfield, MO; brothers: Burdett Thompson, Sargent, NE, Darrell Thompson, Gering, NE, Lester Thompson, Gering, NE, Farish Thompson, Afton, WY, and Leonard Thompson, Lyman, NE She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Denton Thompson.
