

Janet Darlene Weimer, 71, of Scottsbluff, died Saturday, October 24, 2009 at her home. Her funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ed Hunzeker officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home between 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Darlene was born December 17, 1937 at Bayard, NE to Fred and Lela Mae (Booth) Rusch. Darlene was baptized and received her education in Bayard and attended college for two years in Scottsbluff. She married Ed Weimer February 18, 1957 at Fort Benning, GA and made their home in several places in the United States and Germany before coming to Scottsbluff. She was a secretary for District Judge Alfred Kortum for over twenty years. Darlene was an avid bowler, played softball, enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, and was a fan of the Denver Broncos and Nebraska Cornhusker football teams. She attended all of her children’s sporting events and activities. Darlene loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved the company of her faithful companions Bo, Brandi and Cosmo. Survivors include Ed Weimer, sons Kelly and Rick Weimer both of Kearney, daughter Roni Weimer of Scottsbluff; daughter-in-law: Brenda Weimer, Kearney, NE; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers: Robert (Shirley) Rusch, Gering, NE and Leo (Jo) Rusch, Scottsbluff, NE; sister: Loretta Jennings, Reno, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Mike Weimer, brother: Fred Rusch, Jr., and sister Josephine Green.
