

Jeanne Ellen (Morehead) Weber, 58, of Mitchell, passed away suddenly Sunday, November 15, 2009, at her home. Her memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with the Reverend Robert Manasek officiating. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. Inurnment will be in the Mitchell Valley Cemetery at Mitchell at a later date. Memorials have been established to Cardiac Rehab Unit at Regional West Medical Center and the Scottsbluff YMCA. Jeanne was born August 26, 1951, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Earl I. and Anna Marie (Yakel) Morehead. She grew up in Lyman and attended Lyman High School graduating in 1969. While attending WNCC Jeanne met the love of her life, James Weber. Jeanne and Jim were married March 12, 1971, in Lyman. In 1975, Jeanne began her much loved career at Scottsbluff National Park. After 25 years of service, Jeanne retired in 2000, due to ill health. Jeanne was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Fraternity and YMCA. Jeanne enjoyed many hobbies including ceramics, needlework, reading, and most of all ham radio. NØYNP spent many years talking and meeting people all over the world. Jeanne was a devoted army wife for 38 years. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, James Weber; sisters, Judy Morgheim of Lyman, Sally Thuman of Hastings, Lora Schlundt-Bodien of Henderson, Nevada and Ruth (Roger) Peister of Kersey, Colorado; brothers, David (Penny) Morehead and Jerry (Juila) Morehead both of Morrill; and numerous nieces, nephews and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nick and Tabby Weber; and brothers-in-law, Bob Morgheim and John Schlundt-Bodien.
